Acquired Competencies

By completing the degree program, students will achieve the following competencies.

General competencies:

  • Acquiring the gender equality perspective, that is framed in an intersectional and diversity manner  in the knowledge quality and content.
  • Competence required to become a professional in the field of legal knowledge (lawyer, judge, prosecutor, administrator, academic) reconsidered from gender equality critical perspective.
  • Competence to understand the general sense and importance of gender mainstreaming in higher and legal education, starting from positive law fields up to all multidisciplinary fields of legal education.
  • Competences for synthetic thinking on history and perspectives of legal knowledge in a sense of reconsidering the dominant mainstream of thought and mindset into the gender competent and sensitive for intersectionality and diversity standpoint, knowledge and mindset.
  • Ability for multi-disciplinary gender competent and sensitive for intersectionality and diversity approach to law and policies of the international community, European Union, and particular countries including Serbia.
  • Ability to apply methodological knowledge necessary to continue monitoring of gender mainstreaming in legal knowledge and in the legal development of the international, eu and national legislation and strategic documents and the application of their results in practice.
  • Mastering the communication skills necessary for achieving different forms of cooperation in favor of promoting gender equality and sensitiveness for intersectionality and diversity approach with members of the profession, and service activities of various professions (individuals and institutions) from home and abroad, at a high professional level with respect to the strict demands of the profession, linguistics and ethical requirements.
  • Full training in the use of it and relevant english terminology in the process of achieving gender competent legal knowledge.

Subject-specific competencies:

  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of gender competent and in the same time sensitive for intersectionality and diversity approach to law in different fields of legal education, with the developed ability to reconsider traditional knowledge production from the gender equality perspective.
  • Mastery of methodological as well as technical knowledge specifically related to gender competent legal education, which will enable student in solving specific problems in a scientifically relevant way in different areas of gender mainstreaming of legal knowledge – from company law, tax law, labor law, judicial proceedings, human rights law etc.
  • Adequate use of information and communication technologies in the process of development, application as well as critical analysis of gender competent legal knowledge in different fields/courses.
  • Ability to proficiently search international, european and national legislation, strategies, all relevant documents, as well as new sources of reference literature, and to articulate specifically applicable knowledge based on the courses that student follows as part of mandatory as well as optional courses.
  • Gaining the knowledge and skills that can explore a wide range of tasks, further professional and scientific training, progression towards the specialist and doctoral studies of any field of law and social sciences in the country and abroad.
