Eligibility requirements

Eligibility requirements for enrolment in the Law and Gender, Intersectionality and Diversity (LAWGID) programme apply equally to all LAWGID students, including both scholarship and non-scholarship applicants.

1. Academic qualifications

Applicants must have completed one of the following academic qualifications:

  • a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to 180 ECTS, completed within a three-year academic study programme, or
  • a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to 240 ECTS, completed within a four-year academic study programme, or
  • integrated academic studies, i.e. a Master’s degree in academic studies with at least 300 ECTS.

No minimum grade or minimum marks requirement is imposed for admission to this second-cycle higher education programme.

2. English language requirements

As the programme is delivered in English, applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency at upper-intermediate level (B2).

This requirement may be met by submitting one of the following:

  • proof of English language proficiency corresponding to B2 level, in accordance with internationally recognised standards (upper secondary or university studies in some countries may fulfil this requirement);
  • a certificate from Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English (CAE) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS);
  • a certificate corresponding to the course “English 6” or “English B” from the Swedish upper secondary school system, demonstrating B2 level competence;
  • a certificate confirming completed high school education conducted in English.
